The oldest city in California, San Diego’s official nickname as the "finest city in America" may not be very far off. In addition to the many popular museums and restaurants, San Diego boasts an extensive array of parks, such as Sunset Cliffs Natural Park, a 68-acre park adjacent to the Pacific Ocean. There’s also the USS Midway Museum, a decommissioned naval aircraft carrier that served in the US Navy for 47 years. La Jolla Cove offers swimming, tanning, diving, and snorkeling. Visitors also enjoy watching Padres games at Petco Park.

As in most American cities, the majority of San Diegans get around in personal automobiles. The city is served by a robust network of highways. The major interstate highways are I-5, I-8, and I-15. Because of the mild climate, many residents of San Diego choose cars with moonroofs and convertible tops.
